Alaska boasts a vastness of natural beauty. The beauty of its waters, rainforests, mountains, trails, and fjords makes it an ideal destination for those seeking for great adventures. However, if you’re not the adventurous type, there are still a number of activities you can do to experience Alaska’s nature at its best.
1. Zipline through the rainforest.
While you shouldn’t miss the mountain ranges and rainforests of Alaska, taking a zipline tour is better if you don’t see yourself fit for hiking. This allows you to experience the sights and sounds of the majestic rainforests in more or less 10 minutes with local guides.
2. Take a helicopter tour.
If you want to see the mountains and glaciers at a higher altitude, sitting comfortably in a helicopter or air taxi would be a better option. This will also allow you to view so much of Alaska. The sights of rock and snow from a significant distance is a humbling experience.
3. Go on a seemingly endless road trip.
There is no better way to experience the boundlessness of Alaska than driving through its highways. Alaska highways are ideal for people who simply love to drive without a specific destination in mind. Put on your favorite playlist and drive for hours with the windows rolled down.
4. Kayak through the Alaska Rivers.
Kayaking can be an intense sport, but it can also be a steady water activity. You don’t have to pack anything since there are gears and kayaks for rent. Alaska waters can be quieter and calmer in the morning, which makes it an ideal time for simply kayaking for leisure.
5. Watch out for the Northern Lights at midnight.
There’s no way to tell for sure that you would see the Aurora Borealis (Polar Aurorae), but it’s better to take your chance now. You’re more likely to view the Northern lights if your trip is anytime between September and April.
Journeying throughout Alaska is like no other. You don’t have to be the daredevil, adventuresome, and reckless type to be able to have this otherworldly experience.
